My intake manifold off of an 85 has those. A vacuum actuated door slips in there as part of the emissions crap.

You will need longer intake bolts for the two smaller holes and could "probably" fab up some sort of plate for it if you aren't emissions worried.

no headers
just a stock set up
still have the cats there fairly new were on it when i got her...
runs pretty good with that 352cfm carb and the 373 gears.
major power increase over the 302 efi 185 hp
the 351w came out of a 69 cougar-240 hp with the 2v

should have bought the whole car
o well just add it it to the list of cars... ive had and lost makes me and my son sad sometimes....

I just went from the 300-6 on my 82 to the 302. I dumped one of the cats and I'm thinking of putting better breathing exhaust and a 4 barrel intake on it as well.

3.55 gears is next. It originally had 2.49 and right now has 3.0 gears in the back.

Have a similar discussion on my thread here:https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...rebuild-3.html I have the same intake and it is off an '85 351W HO.

You'll see my plans in that thread. I'll make up a block-off plate for that valve. But, you will also have to block off the exhaust gas in some fashion. Again, discussed in the other thread.

Haven't done anything yet, but plan to make a block-off plate and get a new gasket to go under it. The gasket shows in the pic on the left.

Maybe you could chime in on the other thread? I'm looking for all the input I can get.
