however, you CAN use a 6-speed tranny from a later GAS-powered Superduty.
Not sure about input shaft splines matching your clutch, but if you check part numbers for your '99 clutch against, say, a 2004 6-speed truck, if they match it'll work.
And that's not to say that even if the part #'s ARE different that it still won't work...
