> But let me ask you one
>question, how many F-series pickup trucks did Ford sell last
>year? Somewhere in the neighborhood of 900,000 units. How
>many did chevy sell? How many did Dodge sell? Lets just say
>Dodge and Chevy COMBINDED don't come close to 900,000.
I don't mean to defend GM, but actually they sold about the same amount of trucks as Ford in 2001 - and are on track to beat Ford this year. For commercial purposes, Ford only counts Chevy pickups - they don't add on the total of the GMC pickup, which is the same pickup with a different grille. If you combine GM and Dodge, they sell about 1,250,000 trucks a year - quite a bit more than Ford.
Ford is hoping the revised F150 for the '04 model year will increase sales, and push overall sales totals back above GM's - which it could easily do, though I suppose it depends on the improvements that were made.
I haven't seen the new Ford truck commercial. Could someone explain what goes on in it? But seeing what y'all have written, it reminds me of everyday here. But I do ask one question of all of you. The only tow trucks I ever see are Fords. Wonder why??? The only Chevy tow truck around here is at least 20 years old.
There are a few new ford commercials that are kind of dumb, the only good one is the one where a superduty and a chevy are dropping boats in and the E-brake lets go and the chevy goes in the drink. The Ford pulled the chevy and his boat out and the wife of the chevy guy says "wow that sank fast" and the ford guy goes..ya....like a rock. I like that one.
