looking

Hey everyone, Im looking at getting a 2011 soon and wanted to find out some things from people who own them. I am looking at a plain xl 3.7 xcab twd and really want to know what is a realistic mpg I can expect. I seen the stick on this truck in a 4x4 that rated it at 19cty and 25hwy but how true is that? Also the only upgrade I would like to have is the sterio with nav, is this posible to get on the xl model? im just trying to keep the price as cheep as posible thanks for the info in advance.

Your best bet is to go to the Ford website and build the truck you want. You'll find out pretty quick what is and isn't available for each model.

I have a 3.5 EB 4X2 supercab XLT and get 18 - 20 city/local and 21 - 23 highway running 65-70mph the 3.7 should do a little better.

From what I've seen the ecoboost has better mpg than the 3.7.

Personally I would not trust a 3.7 to power a 5100lb. truck.
What gears are you getting? And I don't think you're going to get nav in an xl but let us know.

Why not? The 4.6L in years past powered SCrews without any real issues. The 3.7L puts out a little more power, slightly less torque, and shouldn't have any issues moving a reg cab or Scab 2wd truck.

Am I mistaken or isnt the 3.7 the same 305 hp v6 that is in the new stang. If not what is the hp rating. Thanks again.

302 hp @ 6,500 rpm
278 lb.-ft. @ 4,000 rpm

Similar engine in design, spec'd slightly different than 'stang.

I see no reason why the 3.7L couldn't handle most jobs unless you're doing a lot of heavy duty work with the truck.

I thank you all for your input. I am hope to pick this truck up in the next few mounths and maybe catch a better deal on it as well. I curently have a 89 ranger xcab but it is just so tight to fit me and 4 kids in and thts leaving my wife out. Plus it is 22 years old. so time for a new ride. I just hope the mpg rating is as good as it looks.
