Ats is an aftermarket company that made a turbo kit for the idi along with banks and hypermax. Ford wanted a turbo the last year to have something new, instead of engineering a system themselves they bought them from ats, they spec'ed the downpipe and the filter housing where it says FORD the ast kit says ats turbo there IIRC. Otherwise all the parts interchange
