Great project. Please keep it coming. I'd like to have a spare motor as well. Be a great project. Is all of this because of a leaking oil pan?

Take the exhaust manifolds to the head shop. They can remove the bolts and surface the manifolds as well, better then the exhaut shop. My 2 cents

Get at least a shop towel over that oil filter mount to prevent crud from getting in there!

Or is that all in an air-filtered clean room?

got the fluidampr mounted. its a beast compared to the stocker!

and if any of you are by any chance looking to get a fluidampr there is a guy on ebay selling them for almost half price. they are liquidating bullydog stuff. this is a fluidampr made for bullydog so it has both logo's laser etched and has both part #'s on it. i got this one for 215 compared to the normal 415.......

the heads should be done tomorrow. got them all cleaned and hot tanked while they were there. the exhaust manifolds should also be done tomorrow.....

Perhaps I missed it (been a little sparse around here lately), but why are you tearing down a motor with less than 80k on it??

new injectors, damper, studs, pushrods, springs and an oil pan is hardly a tear down. the engine had to come out to change the oil pan and everything else im doing i was going to do anyway but its alot easier on the stand versus in the truck.......

Well, the heads came off and the engine is out. Only thing left is to yank the pistons, crank, front cover, & cam!

I think my next chance, I'll be closely inspecting my pan and repairing any minor spots I find. Although, I suspect I'll be rebuilding mine at some point anyway. Or another one.

i didnt really want to take the heads off but i figured i would rather have the head shop replace the springs and while they were at it the valve seals for me then me try to do it and mess something up. i tried to get one of the head guys to come to my house after work to do the springs for me but for what they were going to charge me i got more for my money by taking the heads off and taking it to them.....

i should have named this thread a slow month! finally got some of my stuff back from coating and got the motor back in. i have to sand down a little ceramic off of the inside of the turbo exhaust housing as the exhaust wheel is slightly touching it. there are some serious tight clearances there......anyway here are some pics. just waiting on the candy blue i/c pipes the intake y and some other intake parts and brackets to be done mid next week before i can start it. im getting anxious......

the headers.....

coated uppies.....

to heck with all of your steps and topside creepers! this is my preferred method! lol.....everything is super easy to get to without your chest being stabbed by everything.....

this was the last pic i took but the whole front clip is back in and ready for the remaining stuff from coating....
