Change transmission fluid

Change transmission fluid to Mercon V. If you have an trans oil cooler (in radiator), then use the 10 min lube method. I.e. disconnect AT fluid hose from radiator trans cooler to trans and place in 5 gal bucket. Start engine. Poor Mercon V into trans filler hose. Have another 5 gal (paint) bucket ready. Add Mercon V until fluid changes color (dark red to lighter red). This may require 10-12 qts or more Mercon ATF for E40D transmission. This worked great on my 1993 F250, 5.8L, E40D, 150K miles. Good luck, YMMV! REXR
