The truck was running excellent, the problem was that the coolant pipe behind the water pump housing broke, the mechanic removed the intake manifold, at the same time replaced spark plugs and a day after the truck has this bad engine noise that gets louder with high rpms and it vibrates alot
Initially I'd say it sounds like a spun rod bearing. However, since the spark plugs were just changed, I'm going with the conclusion that the mechanic didn't use a torque wrench when installing them. Now you have a situation where one of the plugs blew out of the plug hole and stripped the threads. This is a common issue with these motors.
thanks Alloro, I am going to check my plugs and coils tomorrow to see wich one is lose or blown, I had this job done last year with my #8 but the sound was different and I could see the coil jumping up and down.
Alloro, I checked al the spark plugs coils, boots, springs used a torque wrench and everything is fine, I was going to remove the valve covers to look at the rockers arms and push rods but my sister in law that she had to stop to put oil in the car because it was almost empty (oil engine light on and she could barely hear the noise that got worst later) oil adapter gasket is bad and is leaking oil like crazy.
Conclusion: most likely is a spun bearing like you said.
