I recently purchased and 95 f150 w/4.9 about a week ago, has been running fine all week. Started a tune up today-replaced serp. belt and spark plugs, while taking distributor off both screws snapped, tried easy out on them and distributor cracked/broke. replaced w/reman distributor & cant get it to start now. Set to TDC using straw trick & felt air coming out of #1 cylinder, timing marks on passenger side also line up. Labeled each plug wire & position on old cap & matched up w/new cap & rotor. Set rotor to #1 position & cant get engine to start. Tried several variations w/no luck. Followed service manual & from the treads I've read here I think I've installed it correctly. This is my daily ride so any help is appreciated.

I know this will sound silly, but it's simple to overlook the obvious...
When you turn the key to the start position, do you hear fuel pump(s) prime? that is if you have front or rear tank selected?
Have you disconnected the coil wire from the dizzy and check for proper spark, i.e., Is the spark yellow or blue?
Have you checked the plugs after trying to start the engine to see if they smell like fuel?
If you have spark @ the coil wire to dizzy, have you checked spark from the dizzy to the plugs?
Checking for spark from coil wire and from plugs can be obtained from using a long, thin to medium size screwdriver and grounding against frame.
If you don't hear fuel pumps "whine" or correct to say prime, then you should check the fuel reset switch or your fuel pump relays.
Sometimes the easiest answer is the one most often overlooked. Let us know what you find and we'll go from there.
Good to hear it! I was gonna suggest that earlier, but well, glad to know swapping it with another one worked. Perhaps the stator assemblyyou got in the 1st REMAN was junk or damaged.
