replace upper ball joint.
Watched a lot of youtube videos on this and ALL seem to replace the entire upper arm and not just the ball. Ball is available as a separate unit but is it possible to do just the ball without the arm? 1999 Ford Ranger 2 WD.

you can replace the balljoint on your truck without replacing the upper arm assy if it's the original ford arm assy. This also includes the lower balljoints. I replace all four at one time. Newer model rangers require the upper arm assy to be replaced with the balljoint.

BJ's can be replaced, look in our "Tech Info" thread, located atop this forum, scroll down to the bottom of the page, to find a thread on it. At the end of the thread is a link with pictures on how one owner replaced his.
