I finally got some time to install my afe big boost filter and I have a few questions for u experts. First off I only removed the top half of the stock airbox and left the bottom connected for now or maybe for good. Question # 1 what do I do with the filter minder and the other small plug that was connected to the airbox? Question # 2 I used one of the 4 inch round pipe sleeves for clamping the intake tube and the filter but the filter rubs against the side of the fender and nothing keeps the filter from moving around. I had a sheet of teflon that I cut and put on the edge of the fender so it wouldnt rub a hole in the filter cover. I also screwed 2 pieces of teflon where the middle of the airbox screws are. I had to loosen the opposite side of the intake tube and rotate it down some so the filter wouldn't hit the hood when closed. Did I install this right?
I did take it for a ride and I love hearing the whistling sound from the turbo. I took a pic with my phone and will try to attach it. No luck trying to attach it. with my phone, guess im just doing something wrong, ill have to try with the computer.
The filter minder can be left unplugged if you want. The air intake temperature sensor needs to be plugged in if you want the warm up and EBPV to operate. They can both be secured out of the way and stowed if you choose.
