MPG issues
Lately my truck has been gettin worse gas mileage it seems. Checked it today and i was just under 13mpg. I used to get 15 and 16 consistently, no matter highway or around town. I don't know if they are still using winter blend here in utah but i would think not.
Right now my wife drives it and only drives 5 miles to work each way, goes no faster than 45mph. Thats about the extent of this trucks commute over the last 6 months. Could that be causing it?
Oil is fresh, fuel filter probably 5000 miles. Air filter is getting up there, but doesn't seem too bad yet. Truck never blows black smoke unless luggin up a hill in OD. Up pipes do have some black soot comin out of the flange, but yet to notice lack of performance or high egt's/low boost.
What else to look for?

You're doing great getting 13mpg on a 5 mile commute. When I didn't have my daily driver yet, I was driving my PSD on a 6 mile one way commute getting 9-10mpg. That's on bio blends B70-B100, lots of stoplights, hills, and stop and go traffic in the city. But regardless, it's hard to expect more from a 4 ton vehicle.
