Heater

1987 F150 with a 351w. Heater stays on all the time. All the other controls work. I cannot shut off the heat Where are the likely places to look first. Summer will be here before I know it. Thank you

Do you mean the fan motor runs whenever the key is on? Or do you mean there's always warm/hot air drifting out of the registers?

There is always hot air coming through the vents. Tha fan works fine when switched on.

Remove the glove box and follow the cable that wiggles when you slide the temp control to the green spring clip. If the slide moves too easily, but the temp never changes, the cable housing probably popped out.

If the slide doesn't move all the way, the film hinge on the temp door may have split and you'll have to remove the evaporator core to get to the door.
