Hello, I changed the bed on my early 50 and in doing so i learned a couple things ,#1 my early 50 had a steel bed over a wood sub floor while I believe they changed the late 50 to come with an all wood bed. I had to use spacer wood avail at clasic haulers to bring up the deck height. Now back to the oak boards. they came 78 inches wich were perfect for my truck, however the stainless devider strips i ordered ( from a vendor I will not mention thats not what were here for ) came 76 and a half inches (to short) now you can get an end finish piece wich covered 1 inch stiil leaving half an inch uncoverd wich i corected by purchasing a piece of stainless 2 inch wide wich not only closed the half inch but also slid under the end finishing cap and it came out nice. ok to avoid this make shure your strips are the corect legnth 77 inch with finishing end cap or 78inch without. now im a novice so always double check my facts. And i dont know any thing about a 51 or late 50. Confusing i know sorry bout that (JIMMY)
Yes their the same size the only thing i needed to do on my 50 f-1 was i have inverted sides. This means that whare the wheels go they pull in like wheel tubs.so i needed to notch the two side timber planks.,
