I am looking to find a 7.3 powerstroke motor with a turbo to learn the ins and outs of breaking down an engine, how everything works and putting it back together into a working product. I am not mechanically inclined with vehicles, and I hope to take this one step at a time and change that.

Are there any places to find just the motor, or am I going to end up buying the truck to get the motor? I won't cry if I end up with a second truck

 

Hop on craigslist, go to "auto parts" and search for powerstroke or 7.3. There's always a few for sale around where I am. You can also search in the "cars/trucks for sale" section and try to find a wadded up one.
