Hey guys,
I have a 97 ford expedition Eddie Bauer with the rear air and the overhead display. It doesn't show an outside temp. It show miles until empty, instant mpg, direction (with a blank spot Next to it) and total mpg. Is this normal? I looked behind the grill and didn't see a sensor nor did I even see wiring for it. I would assume that next to the Compass display there would be the outside air temp. Would I be able to add this function, or should I look somewhere else for the sensor?
I am not sure but maybe on some, that function was not on all units. I have a 98 XLT and I bought the parts from a junk yard and the first one did not work as well( outside temp reading), I went later and bought another one and it worked. I am not sure where the actual sensor is for the temp is either but on another note, is the outside temp really that important. You may along with others ask then why is it for me being i bought two units to get it. Well in my case ( not a EB fan) I wanted to show a few friends and also just to show in a public setting that an EB is not all what many think. My XLT had all the wiring hook ups to run everything the 97 to 02 eb had ( minus the paint options of course too). The only thing I left alone was the option for the rear powered glass sections.
