I'm trying to help my dad located a fuel sending unit for a '86 F350 4x4 diesel (6.9). The truck is a cab and chassis with dual tanks that are plastic (poly, whatever). I suppose they are 19 gallons. Does someone out there have a parts book for this year? If I had the part number, maybe I could find it on Green Sales or somewhere online. I can't seem to find it anywhere at your typical auto parts house.

You don't need a part number to call Green Sales. They have a help line (513-731-3304) or you can just call their 800 (543-4959) number if planning to buy one.
But, they will need the same info as I would. Which fuel tank do you need the sender for...Mid-Ship or Aft Axle?
Lemme know, I'll look up the number, list all the sources that have any.

No Ford Dealer or obsolete parts vendor has any.
--------------------------------------------------
If the truck has DRW, there are over 30 of this just obsoleted sender (E5TZ-9275-B) available.
I'm glad you brought it up, because the truck has DRW! That was a detail I never considered. Gonna call Green Sales and see how proud they are of this part.

Wow! Thank you so much for the listings! I've searched for other parts vendors in the past and came nowhere close to finding that many. I have a 79 F150 I'm in the process of restoring. I could use all the help and more on finding oem parts! Thanks again!

All you hafta do is ask. If I'm still extant, will type all the same jazz.
Call around to get the best price, the dealer net cost is what the dealers paid when they bought parts from FoMoCo.
And, you can bet your bottom dollar that the obsolete parts sources paid less than dealer net when they bought the obsolete parts from dealers that they were STUCK with, cuz they couldn't be returned to FoMoCo for credit.
When a part is obsoleted, the dealers have one year to return the part to FoMoCo for credit. But this is a time consuming involved process. Some dealers didn't bother, why there's so much NOS available today.
NumberDummy, here is a pic of the unit that GS sent me. May be hard to see the ruler, but basically, the unit accomodates a tank that is approximately 8-9 inches deep when installed. Also, I've posted a pic of the page in the manual that indicates the truck has a 20 gallon aft axle (rear) tank. I hope we are getting closer to solving this problem and I'm extemely grateful for your help.
