Picked up my new to me truck Friday in Vagas. Bought it out of Cali but the only way to avoid paying Cali tax and then having to pay Iowa tax was to have it brought over the state line so I flew in and drove her home. Pretty happy with it, its an 07 F-350 Lariat CC 2x4 long bed 21K miles. 14 months left on the 5/100 power train warranty so I am saving cash to buy the Ford ESP in 13 months.
Was a bit cautious of the two wheel drive but after the snow storm Saturday morning through Vail, Aspen area I am confident that with a good set of snow tires and I won't have any issues with Iowa winters.
Way happy with the ride flat land at 70 the lie o meter said 21 mpg....
Oh yea I now Love the state of Utah speed limit is 80!!!
and @ 80 it says 18.3 mpg......
Ordered the cat delete pipe today and kitty will live on a shelf in the garage just incase IA ever emission tests....
If my wife lets keep spending money in it all will be good!!!!
Don't believe the readout, it's not to be trusted. The only true way to calculate MPG is paper and pencil. Just remember optimum MPG is keeping the engine under 2,000 RPM.
Yes I had searched the web sites cars. com & autotrader found it on autotrader. Searched for a long time to find one with low miles.
Came from Motorcity lexus in Bakersfield seemed like a good bunch of folks to deal with. Yes I agree about the lie-o-meter, the one in my 02-7.3 was always off by about 2mpg when i calced by hand.
I went with the CTS and like the bigger screen. I like the idea of having boost, eot, ect, egt and fp all there on one screen. However, I have been patiently waiting for the fuel pressure accessory since last fall. I have read where others have given up and went with a separate gauge. With your 07, IIRC, you will have more PIDS than I have.
If it was originally sold or serviced ever at a cali dealer it has a detuned program. It happened to me with an out of state truck .
Have it re-flashed in Iowa at a ford dealer for $100... and be happy with new power and mpg
Delateing the cat is a good first step, expecially if your gonna be towing, also the ESP is a great idea. since you have warranty id take it to a Ford dealer and have them check the ECT, EOT and other parameters. At 21k, your truck isnt even broke in all the way!
