Gents,
Planing some pretty long road trips this summer towing my 5th and wanted to ask...
What are some of the replacemnet parts I need to get on hand to avoid being abandoned on the side of the road and approx which is most important as well as associated costs. I appreciate your wisdom and undertsand that different folks may think one is more important than the other, so just looking for a decent list.
Most important, cps. I carry 2. Otherwise, I just carry some spare oil, and I do have a spare idm along also. Lots of tools. Maybe a fuel filter, I don't though. A way to pull codes would be nice if you can. I never had, but now have a scan gauge. They are a couple hundred bucks though.
Yep Serpentine belt and both a ribbed and smooth idler pulley. Pretty much if you have spare parts carry them. I keep an IPR, IDM, PCM, CPS times 2, Belt, both pulleys I mentioned and will have a vacuum pump, Fuel filter, and some others added here this summer.

Are the Pulleys Ford parts as well? What can i expect to pay for em'?
don't forget to bring the appropriate torx to fit the pulleys. obvious I know, but I'd forget...
Wouldn't put it passed myself either. Last Dry Camping trip I turned around and went home for my BBQ and when I got out to the site and unpacked I had left the propane bottles sitting on the counter at home...
I think if you order them both at the same time, you get free shipping also
Tensioner if you're looking for that (note: 'updated' design, longer arm, do not use factory washer, bolt will recess into arm. some like the upgrade and some would rather do the SD tensioner mod...) http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000C2UI0I
Oh, another 'duh' one... if you don't have on board air, or a compressor (may be worth investing in an inexpensive 12v one that can plug into cig lighter) check all your spare tire pressures too... nothing worse than getting a flat, and having a 'flat' spare.. just trying to think of stuff I know I'd forget...
