my friend is getting his e40d rebuilt on his 94 f150 that has the 5.0l with 200k on it but only 10k on rbuilt motor.
his input shaft seal began to leak and so he took it in and he told them to rebuild the transmiision while they had it out. well they sent it some place to get rebuilt and the place said luckly he didnt just replace the seal because the transmission wouldnt have lasted much longer.
now they asked him if he wants to upgrade a couple things like from a 3 pin to 4pin(i dont know what this means, can someone explain), and also if he wants better clutches and gears. i told him go with the better gears for towing.
yeah the e4od 95 up had a lot of upgrades,, for sure in 95 had a much bigger fluid oil pump, some cast iron replaced aluminum gear holders think they are planetarys? iwonder if the trans already had the roller bearings in the center support for that year
The sure cure for sure. It will make a huge difference. The pump needs to be an F5 casting as its higher output. The steel planetary sets are also a great addition. I spent $1300 on parts for mine and am getting ready to pull and overhaul it.
