Guys, I need some help....picked up a 2004 in excellent condition...had the wearable components under the front replaced about three weeks ago....i'm pretty sure everything was done right...
Had a small oil leak appear...which then become somewhat larger over a few days...crawled under to have a look on the weekend and low and behold...the torsion bar running under the oil pan has smaked up and hit at the bottom of the filler plug...and there's my leak.
I do have a pretty crappy road top drive on...it has a black top, but there are depressions accross the road every 90 feet or so...
Anyone else ever had anything like this happen???...if so, any solutions.
I have never had this happen (3" lift helps) but have noticed that at full compression on both sides the clearance between the oil pan and roll bar would be very tight.
The suspension bump stops should prevent contact from happening. Are your suspension bump stops present and in good condition?
If all else fails then longer roll bar end links (used on lifted vehicles) will rotate the bar downward allowing the center section to be farther away from the pan on full compression. This does not fix the real problem but it might work.

I have the same dent in my oil pan. Mine is not leaking so I haven't done anything about it for now. I have no idea how I did it but I noticed it a few oil changes again. I know I drive on some "roads" that have no business being called such a thing.
