Welcome! My '66 has a 302 in it also. If you will post your VIN Number, someone will be able to tell you what the truck came with, the original color and even where it was built. Pictures are always nice too....we LOVE looking at evryone else's truck.

The engine code is the 4th digit of the VIN.

1965 F100/350: B = 300 1V I-6 / D = 352 2V / J = 240 IV I-6.

The D & J codes were only used in 1965. 1966: A = 240 1V I-6 / Y = 352 2V

The 302 was first offered in 1969 F100's.

The VIN does not have the color code(s) listed within it. Listed separately on the Warranty Plate, located on the left door face below the latch.

Sample 1965 VIN: F10DR639799: F10 = F100 2WD / D = 352 2V / R = San Jose CA Assembly Plant / 639799 = 1965, assembled January 1965.

You need a set of small block perches and insulators. Found in 69 up 302 equipped trucks or in any later 351M400 equpped F series up to 1979.

The 240/300/FE mounts will not work as it places the motor too high in the chassis.

The 1977/79 351M/400 2WD engine supports replaced the 1969/79 302 engine supports (aka towers, stand, perches), so are exactly the same.

But, the 351M/400 rubber insulators have different part numbers than 302 rubber insulators.

Dunno whether they'll work...or not

I'm uncertain which mounts are in my truck, as the previous owner put the engine in. These guys are far better sources of info than me for this line of quetions.
