2 modification questions????

1. Are the bell housing bolt patterns for the 300 I6 and the small block V8 the same? I want to convert from 4 speed manual to an AOD and already have one for a 351W.

Is there an intermittent wiper motor available for a 66?

From what I have heard the bell housings are the same. I have a FE so I am ace'd out on a cheap OD conversion.

The intermitent conversion is a different wiper control. The box stays the same or atleast the one version I saw was that. I don't think theres a PYP conversion that will look good. So your probily left with some aftermarket type.

The type I used bolted to the back of my Novas dash and was black. I am sure they would have a chrome knobbed version for us F100 guys somewhere.

Yes.
From a '73 to '79 truck, harvest the wiper motor, the wiper switch and the wiring harnesses including the delay box.
You should have to cut only 2 wires - the power switch from the back of the ignition switch, and the wire to the squirts motor.
Install the later motor into your '66 bracket, and use the '66 bell crank. Remove the '66 wiper wiring.
Tie the power for the delay system into the original power supply wire.
Install the delay wiper switch into the original location using the '66 bezel, and ****, and discard the old switch.
You will want to cut the delay switch shaft down a bit, but that is a cosmetic need only.
I have heard that the motors, wiring and switches from '80 on will work, but I cannot confirm this of my own knowledge.

CD I don't recall the wire cutting part. I don't use the squirter so that isn't hooked up.

I'm recalling I reconnected the newer motor as you say with it's wiring harness, unplugged the switch and plugged the delay in it's place hooked up the ground wire and was good to go.

It's been over 10 years back and my forgetter is in overdrive.

Emphasis is on the word "shouldn't." The power lead on some trucks is crimped to a multi-fed spade connector on the back of the ignition switch, and it has to be cut. Some simply unplug. The squirts wire passes through the firewall, through the large multi-wire grommet, and may or may not be able to be pulled through. In any event, this wire also is hard wired to the 2-prong plug that provides the power and ground for the squirts motor. It may be able to be unplugged from the back of the wiper switch if the intention is not to use it. Again, emphasis is on the word "may."

Any 2 speed wiper is adaptable to an intermittant unit including 66.

The changes are in the control module and switch.

So, With that being said, is there anyone in the San Jose area that could rebuild the one I have? It has been sitting in my backyard for years and I'm sure it needs it.

The SBF tranny will bolt right up to 240 ,a 300 , even a 250.The flywheel is different from from earlier trans(C-4,C-6,so on) so you have to use anAOD flywheel and starter. Now here's the problem-the bolt pattern is the same on the crank, but the balance is different from V-8 to 6.A V-8 has an external conterweight on the flywheel and the 6 's don't-none of them.If you're planning on a complete rebuild, thenbalanceing would be just extra money. You m,ight be able to find a 6 flywheel somewhere.Don't tell anybody I said this, but if it was mine and I didn't want to tear the engine down,I'd dig out my Dremel tool with a cutoff wheel, cut off the spotwelds on the counterweight, and bolt the damn thing on-and never worry about absolute perfect balance. But that's just me,I'm well known to make stuff if I can.

21411, the 5 bolt bell housings are for early 289/302 blocks in early mustangs. The first year I know had them. I don't know about after that. Anything beyond the mid sixties, in a small block should be a 6 bolt match to a 240/300 L6 block.
