battery light

I keep getting the battery light on the dash even though I have changed the battery and have 12.2 volts comming off the altenator. What else could cause this problem?

You aren't supposed to have 12.2 coming off of the alternator with the engine running. It should be around 13-14.5v. If you don't have that, you need to diagnose the charging system.

The battery light is for the charging system, not the battery itself.

Your alternator may be bad. New batteries have 12.5 V. Sounds like with your engine running, you are drawing some power off the battery and no power is coming from the alternator.
