driver side window ..loud noise

driver side window ..loud noise

I have an 05 F350 and when I put my drivers side window up or down it's making this loud obnoxious noise..I brought it to Ford and they said it wasn't the motor it was something else..they said it will cost around 2-300 to fix but won't guarantee the noise to stop.. so what I'm wondering is if anyone else has had this problem and if you fixed it or not..

Probably the regulator. It is the linkage that connects the motor to the window itself. Not especially hard to do, but will probably take about an hour to replace.
