Custom gauge cluster

I thought I would post an update to my custom stainless steel dash.
I have it fitted into the main part of the dash and just need to tweak it a little bit and then finish cleaning it up and cut the holes for the gauges.

Anyway, here you go:

This is right after I got it home

Test mounted in the dash:

Looking good. I'm patiently awaiting more pics as this thing will let me know what my idea would look like if I got off my butt and did it...

here are a couple more pics. The gauge holes have been drilled. Still have to cut out the heater control and radio panels as well as the wiper and headlight holes.

Thanks for the offer but I'll make mine. Just need to finish a few other things on the truck 1st. Gauges are a low priority now so I haven't messed with it. I don't have the $$ to pay other people to build things for my truck. Especially stuff I can do myself.

What are you using to cut the holes in the stainless? I have stainless around to make one but I'm thinking I'll make mine out of aluminum. Easier to work and I like the looks a bit better.

and they work well? I HATE working with stainless because it eats saws, etc. - even with lots of lube and super clow speeds. I usually end up cutting it on the plasma table and shear so I don't have to mess with hole saws, etc.

here is an update photo for you.

I have test fit all of the gauges. I need to install the turn signal and high-beam lights, wire it all up and I am ready to install.

Will hopefully be done this weekend.

Wow, that is sharp. How much time did you put into making it and what manufacturer are the gauges you have? With what i would like to to to my interior that would look really sharp.

I never knew you could get an autometer clock, that's a great idea!

are you going to do the glove box in the same way? As someone else said above, I'm going to do something similar with the dash in my '74 but with Ali, I prefer the brushed Ali because it keeps the reflections down a bit more than polished stainless... even if the s/s looks WAY nicer...

I'm glad I didn't post earlier to say that your speedo hole wasn't central, because now I see why hahaha
