I am looking for some help with an 89 f150 lower intake manifold on 5.0 efi motor. I have pulled the intake off because the gaskets are leaking and then found out that the manifold has 2 holes in it at the very back. One of them is about the size of a dime. I dont know if these can be welded up or not. I have been looking all over the net for a manifold and have not had any luck. Does anyone know of a place that i might be able to find one?
Thanks in advance for any help that you folks can give me.
Post up a pic of these holes, there shouldn't be any holes besides bolt holes but who knows what you got. You should be able to find plenty of 5.0 trucks in the local scrapyards, all 5.0 truck motors are the same.
My digital camera is acting up or would post some pics. They arent bolt holes. The 2 spots are at the back of the manifold where the head water jacket meats the intake manifold. It is a dead end where the coolant hits the manifold. In the front it passes through the intake but not in the back. Im going to do like you suggest and check the scrap yards tomorrow.
If one from a '95 5.0L F150 will work, I'm pretty sure I have an extra one here. Send me an email at rodsv6cougar@cs.com with your zip code for a shipped price and pics. I should be back over at the shop this weekend, so I could check for you then.
