After new gears and changing 5000 mile old very clogged fuel filter, truck turned turd. Unhooked both batteries for a day and now its good, you guys whose trucks go turd might try it, I think the multi position chip switching and everything else can confuse the computer, even without a CEL, just my thoughts. Hey, even if it doesn't work its a free "mod" When I used to build 5.0 Mustangs for, err, street racing so I could pay for school I always unhooked battery after every mod, seemed to work, lets the computer relearn its base parameters.

I've done that before, especially trucks or cars that do city or burbs driving, the PCM relearns your driving habits all over again. I've heard getting out on the highway after hooking up your batteries is the key.

Kind of curious on this one. having been in the "puter" industry for 25 years, especially when working on the microshat side of puters, the infamous "reboot" seems to help. having also worked in the process control and software development side, theororetically speaking, it shouldnt change anything. Not sure if the code clearing, reacquiring ambient numbers, etc make a difference, but it sure as he!! can't hurt.
