So after talking with the wife, ordered up a Riffraff fix today. have FRX, HPX, WW, turbo rebuild kit, pedastal/EBPV rebuild kit, CCV kit, hpop tool, plenum inserts, etc coming for my top end rebuild/reseal. Already have Bobs full bench kit to reseal everything, and will inspect the non servicable plug and possibly replace it as well. Going to be a long weekend of wrenching in my future
I have 2 friends with SD 7.3's that I help diagnos and fix problems all the time, as well as one with a 91 351 f250 and another with a 2005 chebby, they are all game for a wrenching party, its always a good time, so it shouldn't be too painful. Amazing what free beer and food will attract! lol
You got some good stuff coming your way. One tip on the FRX plugs, go ahead and start spraying them with wd 40 then pb blaster. I did this 5 or 6 times over several days and they came out easy. It sounds like you are about ready for a chip.
I actually hit them with PB tonight already once, truck will probably be sitting for the next week or two, so perfect timing, but thanks for the heads up. Think it will be easier as well having the fuel bowl out of the way when i go to put the 8 point socket on, as well as the rear with no turbo. Was kind of my plan, when the top is open, do it all.
I will call Cody later this summer for the chip i figure, he is local and can live tune. This emptied out my "fun fund", but at a buck twenty five a month donation, it should be rebuilt by late summer is the plan.
You have a good plan for the mods. Not sure if you have pulled the EBP sensor and tube or not, but that would be a good time to do it. Removing it makes the fuel bowl bolt easier to get at.
Ken, pulling that and cleaning as well as the tube is on the agenda, just did that to my buddies late 99 when we did his "non servicable plug".
Kind of had a dry run on his truck, we did the turbo/pedastal orings, then found the ns plug leaking later that week, so resealed his fuel bowl and hpop while we were doinf the ns plug. The advice is much appreciated, I hate suprises when they can be avoided!
man it will be like christmas when the ups truck comes. sounds like some fun i hope you dont have the problem i do, which is when i start working on the truck i cant stop till done or the warden comes to the garage to get me.

I will be back from Georgia by the beginning of July.
I think this forum should get a portable "WebCam" to keep an eye on you guys! We could send it around to the all around the forum members that have a big project, so all of us can be remote supervisors!
What'ca think?

I don't know, most of the work requires awkward positions......
Not sure the cam is a great idea, a view of azzup wrenching from the topside creeper may not be too entertaining, lol
I will be in touch Cody, August is my get everything ready for hunting season month, truck included.
Edit: What is scary is I do have wireless coverage in my garage, and a built in webcam on the netbook, this is very easily doable, but do too language issues from my wrenching crowd, this might be a NC17 broadcast, lol
