power stearing pump
okay last week my power steering pump went out. it has been empty since then. today it started smoking and when i looked at it it had melted. if i take it off will it affect anything or would it be okay to run it like that?

What has melted on the PS pump? If you have a v-belt setup, remove the belt to the pump. If you have a serpentine like me, the pump will be ruined if it has no fluid.
Also, a detailed explanation of what truck you have would be helpful.
