Thanks for all the support and the jokes are OK too. In fact, I have told most of them.
The Bell's just wears you down. At night I have to put a patch over the eye to make sure it stays closed in my sleep. Have to tape the patch on to hold it in place. Now, I have to put the stupid splint on my leg/foot. It is like I am suiting up for battle....at bedtime. Now if i could only get the wife....no, nevermind. She wouldn't go for it anyway.
Generally, I stay upbeat about this stuff. Trying to keep my wife's chin up as well. She has been with her sister all of her life and has had her for the last 28 years. The cumulative effect just caught up with me.
I know that my little issues pale, in comparison, to folks in Japan or those affected by the recent tornadoes and wild fires....or those fighting life threatening disease. But, they are the issues I have to deal with.
I just needed some relief and knew I could bust it loose here.
Wow--hope things turn around for you. About 8 years ago, one of our local morning TV weathermen got Bell's Palsy. Don't know if it concerned his contract or he needed the bucks, but he stayed on the tube, explained his problem and the history of the disease, and did the weather every day. Made a complete recovery. I had a lot of respect for that guy.
Yeah, its tough when in the public eye or in sales. I just explain what is going on and tell folks that if they can't understand me to just ask me to repeat. Can't embarrass this old coot. After about the first month most people have been saying that they can't discern a speech problem.
One of the big problems is driving for any extended period because of the inability to blink. In my case the right eye dries up and gets scratchy. About 1.5 hours is all I want of it. Then have to take a break and close the eye for a short. while.
I have used the patch to drive but, I do not like to be on multi lane roads with it on due to the loss of peripheral vision. Hell, you even have to concentrate to keep 'er between the lines. Two lane roads are OK because I don't have to worry about the right side so much.
Found out last night that one of my daughters may have a marriage that is falling by the wayside. Things may have festered up beyond repair. Naturally, my wife and I will be working hard to help them keep it together.
If they don't make it the silver lining is we will have two of the grand kids at the house for an extended amount of time.
I'm sorry to hear that KW....I kinda know what that feels like, because I too have been the victim of divorce...
But what do you do when EVERY day is fight? I filed for mine, and it was finalized Nov. 3 of last year....The weird part is, we were together 5 yrs BEFORE we got married....Then she started the fighting everyday...
But just hang in there buddy, you'll have more time with the grandkids at least, and as always, FTE is here if ya need someone to talk to...

Thanks Wes. Just another line item on the list. Hopefully, they will figure it out. The bottom line is "You keep on keepin' on" and "You do what you have to do when you have to do it."
