Door ajar switch

I have been having some problems with the door ajar lights not turning off. It doesn't always happen, very random. When ever it happens I open and shut every door good but something isn't clicking to make it go out. So I have the dome lights removed, which really stinks at night. Does anyone know how to check the door shut sensors? I have no idea which door it is so this is going to be a pain.

Well start with the drivers door. It's the most common one. The only easy way to check is with a scanner, it will say which door is "open" Crew Cab, Ex Cab, or Standard?

Get you a can of WD-40 and spray the crap out of the latches. Then open and close the door a few times and spray again. This usually works.

Doug has a pretty good write up on the "how to"
https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/9...t-success.html

He mentions you can turn the thing off just by unplugging it. A way you can tell if you have the right one.

This is a problem with every ford truck/suv I have owned since the '97 model years. I used an electronics cleaner and hosed out the latches pretty good, then let that dry, then put some white lithium grease in there. In a pinch, WD-40 is easier and works just as well, I just prefer the inside of my truck not smell like WD-40 and I think WD-40 will junk up quicker.
