I have them on my 51 as well as a dropped axel. I wanted the truck as low as possible without putting a clip in it. I think the monos ride 100% better than the stock spring pack.
You ca regular eyed or reversed eyed, I went with reversed eyed for the lower drop. If you can look at my album you can see how the truck sits.
I went with the 2 leaf set that you can get from Speedway. So far they look good on the front with the new disc kit installed. Haven't put the sheet metal back on or the engine so not sure how low it will drop, but I went from 10 leaves in my stock F-3 front to this 2 leaf setup. Not looking for huge drop, just a nice mild one.
The bed wood is red oak with 3 coats of red mohogany stain and 3 coats of gloss varnish. how were you able to post my pic? I was trying to post the side view pic so you guys could see the drop I got from the monos and dropped axel. Thanks for the compliments.
I got scared when thinking about mono leaf setups simply because of spring failure. In a pack, even a pack of two, if you have a failure you can still nurse it home. With a mono leaf, if you have a spring failure you are stuck.
Having said that, I am starting to look again at the mono leaf setups. The failure rate of leaf springs is low, and its not like I am hauling anything or actually working my truck.
Looking to drop my 55 f100 which is all stock and keeping it raty? I want to use a 4 inch front with a 5 inch reverse mono leaf springs from the original height with the straight in line 6 motor? I would like to see some pics of how low it sits if any one has any and do you think its the way to go. Not looking to spend a lot of money and not building a show truck. I wanted to bag it but there saying you have to put IFS in no matter what? Is that true. and also looking about 5000 for parts and install doing it the right way? I am looking to buy the reverse eyes from Durant enterprises for $900 for all 4 leafs? Other than swapping the leafs how much more is involved in a project like that?
Open to suggestion what to lower it as much as possible with out breaking the bank!
Arrowhead, I have stock mono's in the rear with Exdended Y hangers plus I moved the rear front hanger to the top on the frame rail the drop is at 7 inches. The front I have MID FIFTIES new front MONO which centers the wheel. 5 inch drop, I have a 3"drop axel I'm putting in which will drop it another 3 inches, total in front 8 inches, when the spring settles it might hit 9inches...I'll have pic next week when the front drop axel is complete...COST...maybe 700.00 for everything so far...ALSO, I did put in a sway bar in the front from CPP.

$700 just for the set for front and back are over 400+ a piece. Did you reuse the stock springs or did you buy all new Mono leafs? Also is there any way to flip the leafs or go underneath the front axle. If you moved the rear/front shackle on the frame was it hard to do, just measure each side the same.
Also for the front when you said that it centers the front wheels when you lower the truck like this did you have to change the camber, drive shaft angle or realign the truck at all or just take out bolt in new stuff and drive?

People have went with spring under front ends on stock axles, however unless you box the perch area on the axle it is a very bad idea. I tried to get some welders to weld a box on my stock axle to go with a spring under...according to 95% of em it is quite difficult, not cheap, and if done wrong can cause weak spots in the axle.
I would highly recomend looking at a drop axle and removed leaves from the stock pack to achieve your stance. If your springs are broken, a stock pack can be found cheap. Just my two cents.
