I'm just beginning to plan my 1969 F-100 resto-mod and am wondering about seats. Has anyone here replaced the stock seat with a seat from a newer truck? I am open to suggestions as I am not convinved that restoring the stock seat is the best option.
I'm thinking that a bench seat with fold-down center (with cup holders) might be a better option.
Just tossing this out for ideas that I may not have considered. Thanks for your input.
A seat that worked really good for me is the bench from a 1996 F150-F350. It's the one with electric lumbar adjustment & flip down center armrest. All I had to do was put my slider brackets on the bottom in place of the 96 sliders. Thanks to Ford for keeping the width of the seat bracket location the same from 66 through 96.

How about a picture of the seat you have? I'd like to see how it looks.
yeah I would love to see those pix, since the bench seat on my '72 is falling apart, feels like its leaning outward, not sure if that's how they are suppose to feel or just from all the use it had through out the years.
Nice. I'm casually shopping for a 60/40 so I can still have leg room when the wife is driving. When I saw the '98 F-150 seat pop up on CL yesterday I thought I'd better find out for sure what I need. No time pressure since the stock seat is still in really good shape and the truck doesn't get driven much.
