i have a 72 f100 2wd and have been looking for some nice 17 or 18 inch wheels for it, but there doesn't seem to be many out there with a 5x5.5 pattern. Just wondering if anyone knows of any?? thanks
Ford never offered an 18" 5 lug 5.50" bolt circle wheel for F100/150's. 17.5" x 5.25" 5 lug 5.50's were only offered for 1961/66 F100's and are impossible to find.
Ford went to metric wheels beginning in 1997, these will not fit previous year F100/150's.
If you look at my gallery I have 17 inch Devino Krakkens on my 69. Not a lot of choice in the 5 x 5.5 size, especially when you have to put a truck hub through it.
Lots of choices with the "Baja" style rim, but I find those are kind of common.
Mike - I agree with old school. I was looking for something like that but there are really few choices in the 5 by 5.5.
I admit I wanted a big rim and big tire, so it took some wheels out of contention.
In the end I settled on the Devino rims and I'm not unhappy, but what I really wanted was the old Cragar style fat spoke, but there aint nothin like that out there.
They are, and I love the look, but they don't make them in a truck size - I'm not sure what the right term is, but the hole for the axle is too small. They won't work on a truck, especially not a 4X4.
No, I'm done with wheels. I bought the Devino Krakkens and they are nice, I just wanted that retro look when we got started.
It is a bit tough as there is little selection. There were some nice rims from a sister brand to Devino, but since they were called "Incubus", I thought that was a bit misogynistic to put on my truck!
