I`ve had afew of the older non turbo 7.3`s plus a 6.0, the 6.0 has more power and better fuel economy.

The turbo addition on the 7.3 improved the mileage greatly. The turboed 7.3's got much better mileage then the 6.0, but was always less power.

What kind of fuel mileage does a 7.3/turbo get? I`ve heard up to 23 mph plus which is smokin`!

Im assuming you meant mpg, as they do eventually go faster then 23 mph

My 03 gets 25 on the highway, my dads 01 with a 6 speed does slightly better, and his old 91 with an idi, and aftermarket turbo, used to get 25 mpg, and that one had 4:10 gearing, where mine and my fathers current trucks both have 3.73.

Ask yourself this.

How long will a 216 cid V6 hold up in a F150 that weighs almost three tons?

How long will it be before the turbo's clog up with carbon?

Why did I buy an F150 w/a 5.0L?

Bill, I guess the jury is still out on that V6, we'll see how long it lasts in a truck, I'm with you & the 5.0L
