It's cool and all, but if they had identical trailers on them I would be more impressed.......

The EB is a pretty sweet engine however....

Put 10,000 lbs. on the back of them to see what happens. Not only would I like to see who comes out ahead but also who could stop in the shortest distance.

That would be the elephant in the room now wouldn't it? Now doubt the EB engine would hold it's own but the Cummins is a pretty bada$$ motor. It may not be fast but it'll pull all day long.

Really not that impressive to me unloaded. A 3/4 or 1 ton dodge diesel is not a drag machine, i'd also be curious to see the results with full size trailers.

Smokey, did you miss the part about the Cummins being 100 HP over stock? A 5.9L turbo diesel vs a 3.5L turbo gasser. They both have their place, but keep in mind, the EcoBoost is supposed to be a competitor to the Hemi and the 5.3 Vortec, not a heavy duty diesel. The EB does pull 10,000 lbs faster than a Chevy 2500 6.0, so it would be interesting to see how well it does against these big diesels. Obviously if you're pulling 10,000 lbs every day, a heavy duty diesel is the way to go, but if it's just every so often, the EB would be perfect.

I could tell the Dodge was tuned while watching the video, before I even saw the description. The 3/4ton up trucks are not speed demons by a long shot, they are made to work. I would still rather haul around a 10k lb trailer with the slower Dodge than an F-150 with the EB. Just imagine how quick the EB would be if it came with a decent shift strategy from the factory.

My neighbor just bought an Ecoboost 150 Screw the other day. I'll have to see how it treats him as he is not one to trade trucks off every few years.

I really cant say that i'm impressed. That Dodge is probably near 1000 pounds or so heavier. Put them on the scales, make em weigh the same, repeat test. it will tell which is more powerful

That drag race is like racing a Harley Vs. GSXR steet bike. Two totally diffrent trucks. As stated previosly, the Dodge is way heavier, like 1500+ pounds heavier. I also dont think that Dodge is as tuned as you think! I know my 2006 Dodge Ram 2500 with the Smarty loaded will absolutely spank a Ecoboost anyday of the week.

The description in the vid says the Dodge is running 100hp over stock on the Smarty. The EB Screw weighs in around 5800lbs dry, the Dodge isn't going weigh over 1500lbs more.
