Any tips to help improve Sync?

I know this is probably the millionth thread on Sync, but does anyone have any tips to help improve it?

Issues Im having.... I can not use any voice commands if I have the window even open slightly. With the weather getting warmer and my vacation season coming up, Id like to be able to use it and not have to roll all the windows up. It seems like the slightest background noise drowns me out, and Ill end up screaming at the *^$ #@!% thing.

When using the voice command to make a phone call, it's a 50/50 chance it'll be able to understand the name Im saying. I can say "call mom" or my sisters name, but saying simple names of friends (I.E. "Bill" or "Jeff") I get a respose of "IDIDNTUNDERSTANDYOU" from the German sounding Sync lady or it'll start dialing the wrong number from my phone book. There have been times I have said "call Jeff" and it starts dialing Jets Pizza.

Also, I am using a Blackberry Curve (until my contract is up then Im getting a new phone) and sometimes when I start my truck and my phone automatcialy connects to Sync, the music player on my phone will start to play, which I wont be aware of unless I hit the "aux" button on the radio, or open the music player menu on the phone. Otherwise, it will keep playing and draining the battery, and making it so I miss text alerts unless I look at the phone and manually shut the player down. Its annoying. I called Blackberry and they said they aren't aware of any such problem. It also happens on a co-workers '10 Escape with his Blackberry. But it doesnt happen all the time for either of us.

One last question...In regards to the turn by turn directions....unlike my GPS, Sync stops turn-by-turn if you go off route. There has been times in city driving where I missed the intended street and you have to "update route" to finish and get updated directions. Is there any way to keep the turn by turn directions active until you manually stop it if you go off route so I dont have to call Sync services and wait for the new info to update? Like in a regular GPS itll automaticaly update the route until you get to your destination.

Thanks!

Have you had your mirror mic replaced under the TSB? See pull-down TSB list (above).

Use full names, even middle names or initials. Might also be related to the mic replacement.

From all the complaints I have read, BT audio seems to be a major PITA for all the phones, even the ones that are listed as compatible.

Just a suggestion...Disable BT audio on your phone and delete the phone from the BT device list on Sync. Do the USB2 mod, put your music on a USB flash drive, and put the whole thing in your glove compartment.

Can't help you on the turn-by-turn (I have the NAV), but I don't think you can stay connected.
