The tap is tapered, so stopping early like this will ensure the thermocouple is snug/tight. As you start to cut threads, back the tap out to clear it as needed.

Guys, isn't it necessary to have two mounted pre-turbo, one for each bank, mounted in each manifold?

So guys, just to clarify, the 6.0 doesn't come from the factory with anything monitoring EGT Temps and it's totally necessary to install an aftermarket sensor (or sensors) and guages?? Right

What is the cost of a kit, and where do you buy it guys?
