fuel pumps

i have an 85 f150 w/ a 302 efi. it's running very rich and acts like it's flooding out. my question is , if the fuel pump is bad could it be pumping too much gas through the system? it seems like it wouldn't be getting enough gas but i'm not sure. i'm running out of ideas.

i would asume that its a carb motor right?

maybe a float adjustment is needed

My 84 4.9 the choke would stick and set off the smoke alarm inside the house from the black exhaust. My 80 302 did the same thing.

you need to check the fuel pressure regulator,pull the vac line off of it,if fuel comes out its bad.if it is bad,you also need to change your oil.
