Do i need a custom tune to run pi heads on my 99 v10?

I think it will do OK, but give Mike a call. He is a busy guy, but he will get back to you. E-mail is probably more convenient for him...
He did the tunes for my truck, which means he knows if he did anything different for the PI conversion and how much different it was.
My last name is Sweet if that helps him recall or find the info.
My guess is it will be fine at part throttle due to self corrections in the factory software, but WOT may be an issue.

It will (probably) ping because of the higher compression. The knock sensor will probably stop it, but that means the power will fall off whenever the knock sensor hears it pinging.
Worse, the knock sensor logic (I think) only pulls 4 degrees of timing, so it will STILL probably ping.
The "closed loop" logic deals with fuel mixture, not timing, except for the knock sensor which like I said will only pull a certain amount of timing.
I would, however, love to hear how it turns out

The spark tables are really the only main thing that needs changed. PI heads cannot tolerate as much spark as the NPI heads can, and the higher compression will make it even more knock sensitive. A few minor tweaks to the software, and it'll be perfect. Mike can take care of it no problem.
