Hi, I was looking for some information from the forum on the 1998 model V10.
I currently own a 2005 Ford Excursion with a stock V10. We use it to tow our travel trailer.
I am considering purchasing a Class C RV 1998 model with the V10.
In a nutshell, how do the 2 V10's differ? Specifically, I had heard that the older V10's did not produce the same hp as the newer 2V versions. Is tghere much of a drop from the 1998 vs 2005? Also, was the dreaded spark plug problem a probelm as early as 1998?
The '98 would be the non-PI 2V. 275/410 versus 355/460 in your truck.
Yes, all modulars have aluminum heads so plugs were stripped in some of them. And the first ones were most affected as more mechanics were clueless about how to install plugs in them.
