Just thought I would post my solution to my no brake light problem.
checked fuses- all good
checked bulbs- all good
replaced the stoplight switch- still no lights
the problem for me was on the top of the steering column just below the hazard lights button. The plastic connector was brittle and cracked which allowed the wires to back out and the plug to fall out as well. I did some miracle work with duct tape to solve the problem. I hope this helps out someone who has the same problem because I was pulling my hair out over this. I have attached pics to help.
Hope these help. you might want to save the picture because the forum would not let me post pictures on the forum. these are on a friends site and I am not sure how long they will be available.
What's the deal with the 3 wires spliced into the harness going into the shift lever?
Also I would use something beside duct tape, the glue on it is not the best and can make a mess before it fails.
It looks like you could build a little clip to snap between the connector and the flat area in front of the e-blinker button.
BTW good find for the problem.

the 3wires are from the OD button on the shifter I found that problem when I was in there. As for the duct tape I hope to hit the lotto so I can buy a new one
You must watch the "Red Green Show" on PBSTV. They use duct tape for everything. According to them it's "Duct tape; The handyman's friend". That is a funny show and I miss it.
