Hey,
I just got finished putting a 4" Rough Country Lift on my 93 Bronco. I am in the process of picking out new wheels and tires. I want to put some 33's on it. What size wheels and tires would you guys suggest? Would a 15x10 wheel w/ 4" backspacing cause any rubbing?
depends on your lift. if you are running extended radius arms and they have the bend in them for larger tires then you are fine but if your running the stock arms and drop brackets you will probably rub.
why are you going with a 15x10 wheel? if you ever air down the tire will have a harder time staying on the bead of the rim. also the tire wont protect the rim as much.
if you do go with that rim you may have to adjust your steering stops out a bit.
15x10 are fine, I have had them on every Bronco i have owned. If you run a really nobby mud tire you may notice more rubbing than a A/T tire but would only be at full lock turn. Put them on and enjoy.
Assuming you are going to run 33x12.50's and not a narrower or wider tire, 15x10's are the proper size wheels for them. Tire manufacturers will not honor warranty claims on tires mounted to rims that are more than 2.5" narrower or wider than the tire's section width. (Seriously, read the fine print).
4" of backspacing is about 1/2 an inch deeper than the stock alloy wheels on a Bronco of that vintage so it will pull the tires under the truck and closer to the radius arms on the inboard side by that much. My 15x10 Mickey Thompson Challengers have a 4" backspacing and I had no rub issues using extended (bent to clear larger tires) radius arms. You might get some small amount of rub at full steering lock running stock radius arms and drop brackets.
Here are some pictures of my 94, with 33x12.50 all terrain tires mounted on 15x10 American Racing wheels, and a 2 1/2" lift. Other than having to space the bumper out I've had no rubbing issues.
