HI, this is my first post here, My father just gave me his 1977 for 250 4x4. I am looking to restore it, first thing to tackle is the bed it is rusted all to hell. The support bar that run across the bed are rusted too. the fender wells are ok its just the floor of the bed.
What are my options for fixing it? I looked on the net for a replacement bed but found nothing. Should I try to fix the original bed?
Welcome to FTE... you've found a great place for info...
You might want to try the search feature this was discussed just about a week ago, several places for parts were listed - also try the body work forum.
If the rest of the bed is good, then you could just replace the center section of the floor. You could buy new replacement panels or cut the floor out of a better used bed. When looking for parts (new or used) keep in mind that the 73-96 beds were the same except for the bed sides.
