Yes you did!

The only reason I mentioned him sounding old is because I thought it was strange an older man putting money into a loud exhaust system. Usually older fellas like it quiet.

You know what, I'm getting there myself. I've gotten to where I just don't care anymore. My dad's little truck is quiet - and I like that. It makes for a nice ride.

has anyone purchased the flowtech headers off of the jcwhitney website and how did they fit? Only reason im asking is that they're priced at $139 so they seem fairly cheap for headers but it would be nice to upgrade engine with headers....this would be for a 85 300 6cyl

this is a old thread that nobody's probably paying attention to anymore BUT i am putting a split manifold on the 300 i just built for my 78 250 the walker 45166 with the welded in Y piece does it restrict flow any compared to the duel pipes coming off like in the other picture? and where can you find the duel pipes ?ford? its all going into a 2 1/4" inch pipe so since the downpipe is already 2 1/4" would it matter the only thing i could see is if maybe where it comes in at that angle it MAY restrict flow compared to the duel pipes

Read my post.
The weld at the Y has a restrictive hole in the side of the main pipe.
Just take a 2" hole saw on an extension and cut it out.

i saw that part(wonder why they make it like that) i was referring to the fact that OE pipes like on my 94 have duel 2" or better pipes going to the cat straight off the manifold where as the aftermarket such as the walker just had a single pipe the pipe seems big enough that it wouldnt make a difference

You saw it AFTER we bored it out.
But the hole in the side of the pipe is only like 1 1/4" inside the fishmouthed part from the factory.
Probably so they can't screw up the weld.

The 2 1/2" Y pipe allows plenty of flow for the low revving 6 and makes it much easier (and cheaper) to put together the rest of the system.

There is some reason Ford chose to do it that way.
Probably noise or emissions regulations.
