I've got a buddy that drives a road tractor, he says the Cobra's are pretty popular.

I was looking at those "army" Cobra's on ebay, I guess its just a cobra 29 with special paint. How's it been working for ya? What did it cost to get turned up and how far can you reach out?
My father had a freind turn it up to 160watts some how, i think he did it for $30 i am sure it probably be higher to have someone at a shop or store do it, as far as distance goes i was in orlando and we were talking to a guy in cassadaga on the highway, i will get a rough mile estimate off of map quest in a min., 34miles
i mounted my antannas on my headache rack, i used half of the mirror mount bracket, the right angle side, and bolted it to the rack, i went between the cab and the rack, then i just ran my wireing between the cab and the bed and tied it up to the frame
Get a Cobra 29, its the most reliable and whatnot. Go online as truckstops are too expensive. If your gonna do antennas on whips, take a straight bar of aluminum and cut it, drill a hole big enough to put your antenna coupler through and screw down, then weld/bolt/screw the bracket onto the back of the headache rack. I will post pictures of my bracket I used when I mounted it on the front right fender and dimensions of the aluminum bar I used.
