08 venturi tee

Just did my update today on my f450 was low on coolent a few weeks ago so I read up on it hear and did the update. truck had been sitting in driveway for a few weeks and coolent was just under the low mark so after I did the tee and made sure it was on right. I added coolent to top of cold mark drove truck about 10 miles and had coolent running out on the ground looked under truck it looks like its coming from the bottom of the raidator but the coolent level just gets to below the tee in the degas bottle and don,t leak any more.So is this ok? is it coming out the radiator vent hose from the tee.does the level change in the degas bottle now that I have done the update tee if it is the radiator leaking wouldn,t all the coolent run out? why do you hook it to the lower port on the degas bottle that runs right into the radiator vent hose don,t that go right out to the ground like a over fill?

check your venturi-T to ensure you have it the right direction. If you were that low and filled it to the top line then you may have had some air in it.

Dry everything off and see where you stand. It will puke out the top if overfull. Did you put the gold coolant with the ford spec # in it?

I did add the gold. And the tee is on right. it did not look like it puke out nothing on side of bottle funny part is it looked like it only leaked what I added. I will try it again to see if it runs out to below the tee again. Where does the radiator vent hose go? I see no check valve in the tee so what stops it from running out of the degas bottle and out the vent hose? does the vent hose recycle the coolent or let it run out to the ground like the old overfills did?

I think what you are saying is you added the t to the lower part of the degas bottle, but the opening on the upper part of the degas bottle..what to do with the hose...

That upper opening you are to just plug it. No overflow hose at all.

No I have every thing on right the cap is on the top. What I am asking is where does the vent hose go and what stops the coolent from running out of the degas bottle and in the vent hose its a stright shot out the bottle and in the vent hose? So how does the level of coolent stay above the degas hose or tee hose on the lower port.

The degas bottle is part of the pressurized system. It is not an overflow so no coolant should ever go anywhere.

If you are loosing coolant then whatever line you have going to the ground has to get connected somewhere. did you look at the pic above?

Then you have either a radiator or a hose leak. Don't suppose you are under warranty any longer?

No not under warranty only 26000. on truck but I owne it since 5/ 07 so it is four years old.I just don,t under stand why it runs down to bottom of tee then stops running out if it was the radiator would,t it all run out not just what I add to fill it to the cold mark. I guess I will take it in on monday

Fords Bad Radiators

Ok truck is at the dealer just what I though it needs a new radiator.Guess I didn,t get the tee in on time. This is a lot of bull putting a radiator in a truck with 26,325 miles on it.What is wrong with Ford if they know they have a bad radiator why do they replace it with the same one. It sounds like from what I read on this and other web sites that the coolant will eat away at the radiator and then it leaks. Some of us should get together and see about a joint law suit instead of paying ford for radiators over and over. This is my first one in this truck and I hope my last. but there are many people with this problem out there on this site and other web sites
