I believe Ford built them on late 60 to early 70 trucks? But they look a little weird to me, ck out the FTE thread "step side long bed" dated 04-06-2009 pics and info for you.

Would just link it but I am computer challenged.

The orange truck in the pic is not a SCS....................thats just how weird the longbed flare sides looked...............WAAAYYY too much space between the back of the cab and the front of the rear fender. I agree that most of the LWB Flare sides were stripper models. Most of em were purchased for nothing more than a work truck. I love the looks of a SWB FS but the LWB ones to me are just butt ugly.........probably more rare anymore than a SWB, just because most of them had the s*** beat out of them; but.............................

Thats exactly the type of thing the LWB FS's were built for...............service beds, grain beds, contractors, built for hauling, not looks..........

I kind of like them actually. Don't look so weird to me at all, although then again, IIII am weird haha.

Does anyone know the difference in the thickness of the steel on a Flareside bed as opposed to the inner wall of a styleside? The company I used to work at used mostly one ton dumps, and I always miss the ability to throw/drop/drag anything around in the bed, without fear of damaging it. I know a dump bed is going to be muuuuch thicker of course, but.
