timing adjustment ??

I have loosened the three bolts holding the ip in and now while trying to rotate it it feels real stiff . Doesn't want to turn right or left i can wiggle it and see that it is loose from the housing because the seam at the mounting surfaces is opening up a hair . The bolts are finger loose now . I don't want to break something . are the injector lines holding me back from getting the pump to turn ? What have some of you guys experienced when adjusting timing?

The pump itself won't turn a whole lot, only rotate it a dimes width at first. I don't know about it not wanting to turn? Mine rotates rather normal when the 3 mounting bolts are loose.

It is possible to loosen the bolts torque the pump tighten the bolts not move the pump enough to see a difference and see a change in the timing that shows more on some trucks than others.

try loosening some of the injector lines at the pump that should make it easier to turn
